Most "web design trends" posts are about colours and fonts. This one isn't.
The bigger change heading into 2027 is who, or what, visits your website. More people now ask an AI assistant before they ever open a browser. Gartner has predicted that app usage will fall by a quarter by 2027 as assistants handle more tasks directly. Google's AI Mode passed a billion monthly users in 2026.
So your website has two audiences: the person deciding whether to hire you, and the AI tools that summarise you to that person. Here are seven changes that serve both.
1. Write for questions, not keywords
People now type, or say, full questions: "Who builds websites for dental clinics and can set up online booking?"
Your pages should answer questions like that directly. Use the question as a heading and answer it in the first two sentences underneath. Keep the long explanation for later in the page.
2. Publish your prices, or at least your starting point
AI assistants are asked "how much does X cost" all day. If your site says nothing, they'll quote someone else's numbers.
You don't need a full price list. "Projects usually start from…" plus what drives the cost is enough to be part of the answer.
3. Make every service its own page
One "Services" page with five bullet points gives AI tools almost nothing to cite. A dedicated page per service, with who it's for, what's included, the process, timeline, FAQs and an example project, gives them everything.
4. Treat proof as content
In 2027, anyone can generate a polished page in seconds. What can't be generated is your track record.
Plan for:
A case study for every major project, with the client's industry and a measurable result
Reviews on Google and one industry directory, linked from your site
An about page with your real name, photo, location and experience
Bylines on your articles
5. Let visitors act without leaving
When fewer people click through, each visit counts more. The ones who arrive are ready to act.
Move from "contact us" to "do it now":
Online booking for discovery calls
A short quote request form that asks the right questions
Instant confirmation and a clear reply time
This is where your website and your automations meet. A booking can update your CRM, send a reminder and prepare your call notes without you touching it.
6. Get the structure right under the hood
The technical side matters more when machines are reading your site:
Schema markup for your business, services, reviews and FAQs
Important content in the page's HTML, not loaded later by scripts
Fast loading on mobile
One clear heading per page and logical subheadings
A clean sitemap with no duplicate pages
None of this is visible to visitors. All of it affects whether AI tools understand and trust your site.
7. Plan for fewer, better pages
The old approach was to publish lots of short posts to catch every keyword. AI answers now absorb that kind of content.
For 2027, plan a smaller set of strong pages: one per service, one per major question your buyers ask, and real case studies. Update them twice a year instead of adding new thin posts every week.

FAQ
What are the biggest website trends for 2027? For service businesses, the big shifts are AI-driven search, answer-first content, published pricing, stronger proof, and booking built into the site.
Do I need a new website for 2027? Not always. If your site is fast and well built, restructuring content and adding service pages, FAQs and schema may be enough. If it's slow or hard to update, a rebuild is often cheaper long term. See redesign or rebuild.
Will AI replace business websites? No. AI assistants need sources to summarise and somewhere to send people to book. Your website is that source.
